Finding Steady Ground Together
Welcome to the Journal of Global Engagement and Transformation (JGET) — a space where scholarship meets lived experience, and where research and practice come together to advance mental health and social transformation in an ever-changing world.
As Editor-in-Chief, it is my joy and responsibility to invite you into this ongoing conversation. At JGET, we believe that knowledge is not meant to remain confined within ivory towers or academic journals; it is meant to be shared, tested, embodied, and applied — to heal, to empower, and to build stronger, more connected communities.
We are living in times of profound change. Political upheaval, social fragmentation, ecological disruption, cultural displacement, and systemic inequities continue to challenge the ground beneath our feet. Mental health — once seen as a private, individual concern — is now rightly understood as deeply ecological, shaped by the interwoven realities of our personal stories, relationships, histories, and the systems we inhabit.
This is why JGET exists: to illuminate those intersections, to question old paradigms, and to amplify innovative ideas that bridge theory and practice. We are committed to advancing work that is culturally responsive, globally relevant, and contextually conscious — work that challenges us to think deeply, engage boldly, and act compassionately.
Whether you are a researcher exploring new frontiers, a practitioner implementing transformative approaches, a policy leader advocating for systemic change, or a student eager to contribute to the field — this journal is for you. Your voice matters. Your scholarship matters. And together, our collective efforts
