Message from the Associate Editor & Editorial Team
Reawakening the Vision — Reigniting the Movement
After a meaningful period of reflection and renewal, we are honored to welcome you back to the Journal of Global Engagement and Transformation (JGET).
Emerging from hiatus, JGET steps into this new season with renewed energy, vision, and purpose — ready to continue the vital work of connecting research, practice, and lived experience to advance global mental health, human development, and social transformation.
As the Associate Editor, I, Angel Ash, together with our dedicated Editorial Team and Peer Reviewers, celebrate this relaunch as a collective milestone.
Our team represents a wide spectrum of disciplines: counseling, education, psychology, theology, criminal justice, social work, community health, and organizational leadership, bringing together diverse expertise and shared commitment to GCSCORED’s mission: to Renew Minds, Transform Lives, and Create Safer and More Socially Connected Communities.
JGET is more than a publication; it is a movement, a living ecosystem of knowledge, stories, and practices that inspire transformation across systems and societies. We believe that knowledge must not only be studied but lived; not only published but practiced.
Our goal is to make space for voices and perspectives that challenge, expand, and reimagine how we understand and engage with the ecology of mental health, the personal, relational, cultural, structural, and systemic factors shaping well-being locally and globally.
As Associate Editor, I am deeply committed to creating space and opportunities for underrepresented and historically marginalized authors and practitioners, particularly those across the African diaspora and within communities impacted by systemic inequities. We believe their insights and experiences are not peripheral but essential to building equitable, compassionate, and culturally responsive approaches to healing and transformation.
Together, as editors, reviewers, and contributors, we are not merely curating articles, we are cultivating a community. Our shared hope is that JGET continues to serve as a beacon for justice-informed, inclusive scholarship and a catalyst for meaningful engagement that bridges disciplines, sectors, and borders.
To our readers, authors, and partners: thank you for joining us on this journey. The relaunch of JGET marks not an ending but a reawakening, a collective recommitment to the vision that began in 2017 and continues to grow through your passion, partnership, and participation.
Welcome to this new chapter of engagement, renewal, and transformation.
In Solidarity and Hope,
Angel Ash,
Associate Editor, Journal of Global Engagement and Transformation (JGET)
